McGunn of Lansing, a former resident of Ionia, passed away at St. Lawrence hospital, Lansing, March 17, 1940, after submitting to two major operations. Mary E. Kilduff was born at Stanton, Michigan, January 5, 1883. She was the eldest daughter of Sarah Hogan and Edward Kilduff. At the age of 14 her family moved to Bloomer township, Montcalm County, where she lived until her marriage April 27, 1909, to Wm. J. McGunn of North Plains township, Ionia county, who preceded her in death May 23, 1925. About three years ago she closed her home on West Main Street, Ionia, and since that time has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Louis Magley of 64 Dunlap Street, Lansing. “Mayme,” as she was familiarly known, will be remembered by her many thoughtful and loving deeds. She belonged to the SS Peter and Paul church, Ionia, and was a faithful member of the Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella of that parish. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marian Mumaw of Greenville and Mrs. Rosetta Magley of Lansing; two granddaughters, Darlene Ann Magley and Mary Carolyn Mumaw; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Grace of Carson City; one brother, Edward Kilduff of Ionia; an uncle and aunt, John E. and Mary E. Hogan of Hubbarston, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held from St. John the Baptist church, Hubbardston, Wednesday morning at 10:30. Rev. Father Thomas L. Beahan sang the Requiem High Mass. The bearers were six nephews, Carroll Kilduff, Edward and James McKeone, John Dwyer, Edward O’Neil and John McGunn.
