Hogan and was born on their farm home near Hubbardston, Michigan, March 4, 1873. She remained a member of the family number until February 4, 1891, when she was united in marriage to James McIntyre whom she had known from early childhood. Their first years of married life were spent on the old McIntyre homestead from which they moved to their present home west of Carson City in 1896. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. McIntyre, the first dying as an infant, Lenna, who died August 4, 1904, Julia a student at the State normal at Mt. Pleasant Michigan, and Marian, who attends the St. Johns school at Hubbardston. Mrs. McIntyre was in apparently good health until two months ago when she was taken suddenly very seriously ill. Local physicians diagnosed the trouble as appendicitis. Dr. McMillan, of Detroit, was called and performed an operation December 20, but without avail as no relief was secured. Mrs. McIntyre gradually grew weaker and in spite of all that doctors, nurses, friends, and family could do until the final end came without any special fore warning Wednesday evening, January 29. The funeral service was held at St. Mary’s church Saturday morning and was conducted by Rev. James P. Welch of Three Oaks, Mich., a relative of the deceased. The funeral sermon was delivered by Rev. H. J. Whalen, Rev. J. J. McCabe attending in the sanctuary. The remains were followed to their resting place in St. Mary’s cemetery by a large number of relatives, friends and neighbors as a last mark of respect and esteem. Besides her devoted husband and four children, Mrs. McIntyre leaves to mourn her loss two brothers, John Hogan, of Carson City, and James, of Hubbardston, and three sisters, Mrs. N. McKenna, Mrs. George Cusack, and Miss Anna Hogan, all of Hubbardston. Her cousins acted as pallbearers. They were Dennis Hogan, Daniel Hogan, Patrick Hogan, Thomas Hogan, Perry Hogan and John Hogan. Those from out of town who attended Mrs. McIntyre’s funeral were Mrs. John Fitzgerald of Ionia; Mrs. John McKenna, of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. James Whalen of Vicksburg, and Mrs. Julia Sullivan, of Detroit.
