          L. O. BUSINESS MAN FOR TWENTY YEARS DIES

                                        -------------

          WELL KNOWN IN THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY. 

     RESIDED IN HASTINGS, SUNFIELD AND LAKE ODESSA

                                         -------------

              MEMBER OF MASONIC ORDER 40 YEARS

                                         -------------

   Samuel L. McIntyre who for the past twenty years has been in business in Lake
Odessa died Monday 
morning at Pennock hospital in Hastings where he has been for the past two or three
weeks suffering from 
gangrene.

   Mr. McIntyre has been known for years as our laundryman and has attended to
business promptly and 
regularly.  He was 83 years old and apparently very rugged and always cheerful often
calling himself the 
"Chinaman". He only gave up active business about two months ago when he sold the
laundry to other parties

   He was a Knight Templar Mason, being a member of the Hastings F. and A. M. where
he joined when living 
on his farm near Hastings.  For a short time he lived at Sunfield before settling in
Lake Odessa.

   Besides his wife he leaves one daughter Mrs. Laura Rogers of Spokane, Wash., Dr.
Chas. S. McIntyre and 
Jesse McIntyre of Hastings and Bernie McIntyre of Barbers Corners, besides many
friends who sympathize 

with the family.

   His cheerfulness will be missed but will leave an example for others that are
growing old.

   The funeral was held at the M. E. church Wednesday at 10:30.  Rev. Floyd Otamer
preached and burial was 
at Lakeside cemetery.  Many flowers were an evidence of the regard for the family. 
The music included the 
song he often sang "Over the River".
