Carson City Gazette, Thurs., June 22, 1939
Jessie Elbie, daughter of John and Mary Lester Morey, was born in Ionia, 
Michigan, February 6, 1865, and died in Carson City, Michigan, at the home 
of her sister, Mrs. Grace Banton, June 8, 1939, agd 74 years, 4 months and 8 
days.

Early in life she was baptized in the Church of Christ at Ionia.

She was united in marriage July 27, 1887 to Wm. McKean, who preceded her in 
death in 1927.

Mrs. McKean has been in ill health for many years. Recently she has made her 
home with her sister in Carson City, also with her brother, Clare Morey in 
Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Surviving are the sister, Mrs. Geo Banton, of Carson City , one brother, 
Nelson Clare Morey of Grand Rapids, also nieces and nephews and many friends 
who mourn her passing.

The funeral service were held at the Caswell Funeral home in Carson City 
Saturday afternoon Rev., B.A. Hartley officiating. Interment was made in the 
Woodward (Woodard) Lake cemetery.
