The Ionia Sentinel, Thursday, May 2, 1895
William McKean, whose death occurred at Detroit, April 11, 1895, was a 
lifelong resident of Ionia County, having been born here thirty-seven years 
ago.  July 26, 1895 he was married he was married to Jessie E. Morey of 
Ronald, Ionia county.  He was in failing health for many months, and went to 
Detroit, February 11, last, for medical treatment.  His case was at once 
pronounced hopeless.  This decision he accepted without a murmur, patiently 
waited for the end, at times expressing his desire to be at reset.  The 
funeral services were held at the residence of his grandfather, Mr. E. P. 
Cheney, near Woods Corners, Saturday April 13, Rev. W. H. Scott of this city 
officiating.  Interment at Woodard Lake Cemetery.


Additional Comments:
Transcriber's Note: The marriage date is after the death date.  It is 
transcribed exactly as it appears in the newspaper account.  I checked the 
Woodard Lake Cemetery records and they show death date of 1895 so one can 
likely assume the marriage date is incorrect.
