Kenneth Leo McKee aged 89 of Ionia passed away Thursday, June 23, 2005.  He was 
born May 11, 1916 in Grand Rapids the son of James Earl and Eva (Thompson) 
McKee.  He graduated from Central High school in Grand Rapids in 1934 and MSU 
in 1942.  He married Helen Chapla June 11, 1941 in Grand Rapids.  He worked for 
Commission on Aging following his retirement from Michigan Bell.  He was a 
member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Past member of Ionia Elks Lodge and 
Ionia Rotary Club. He was also a WWII veteran.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen McKee of Ionia.  Their 
children Carole and Jack Hausserman of Ionia, James and Lisa McKee of Muir, 
Mary Ann and Alan Pearson of Ionia, Patti Trueblood and Roger Davis of Ionia 
and Kenneth and Cindy McKee of Ionia.  14 grandchildren and 17 great 
grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by 1 sister Ila and 1 brother Russell. 

Funeral Services will be held Monday 11 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic 
Church with Rev. Mel Fox officiating.  Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  
Visitation will be on Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 
Rosary 8 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  Anyone wishing may make 
memorial contributions to SS Peter & Paul School or Ionia Area Hospice.
