Ionia Sentinel - August 11 1919
The church of SS. Peter & Paul was crowded with a host of friends, church 
members and relatives of Leslie McKee on Monday morning to pay their respects 
to his memory.  The mass was said by Rev. Fr. Gabriels and the funeral sermon 
preached by Rev. Fr. McCarthy, who spoke very feelingly of the man, whom the 
community and church held in high respect and who came to such an untimely end 
in such a shocking manner.  The interment was in Oak Hill cemetery, where the 
McKee family lot is situated.  

Relatives from away were Mr and Mrs Fred McKee from Detroit, Mr and Mrs Thomas 
Humphreys from Lansing, Mr and Mrs James Humphreys from Detroit, Misses Mayne 
and Anna Humphreys from Grand Rapids, and Mr and Mrs Warren Breeler from Flint.
