Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Thurs. Feb. 18, 1965

Funeral service will be Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at First Methodist 
church for Mrs. Irma L. McKendry, 91, who died Wednesday at 9:45 p.m. at the 
home of her daughter. A memorial has been established at the church and its 
pastor, Rev. Lester C. Bailey, will officiate at the service. Interment will be 
at Easton cemetery.

She was born April 22, 1873 at Grattan, daughter of William and Elizabeth Allen 
Cowan. She attended Dildine and Ionia Public schools.

Church and civic activities included membership in Dildine and First Methodist 
church of Ionia, Janette Howard circle and State road club. 

She was married in Easton township November 9, 1892 at her Easton township home 
to John McKendry who preceded her in death July 22, 1944. Following his death 
she made her home in Ionia on East Washington street with her daughter Mrs. 
Douglas R. Welch. The past few years she has resided with a daughter, Mrs. 
Price Haddock, 525 High street, where she died.

Surviving are three sons, Harold and Elmer McKendry of Ionia, and Edgar of 
Palo; four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Haddock, Mrs. Marion Fuller, Mrs. Winifred 
Welch and Mrs. Elizabeth Yeomans; 21 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Myers funeral home Thursday after 7 p.m., where the body 
will be until 1:30 Saturday when it will be taken to First Methodist Church to 
be in state until 2:30.
