Harold J. McKendry age 81, of Ionia passed away November 23, 2007 in Ionia. He 
was born August 30, 1926 in Ionia the son of Harold and Bessie (Engebretsen) 
McKendry. Harold married Marian October 27, 1967 in Ionia. 

He was an over road truck driver for 30 years. Harold was also a carpenter and 
he enjoyed yard work. He was a lifetime member of Ionia Elks club where he was 
voted Elk of the Year twice and was a member of Ionia Moose Club and Hunting 
and Fishing Club.

Harold is survived by his wife Marian McKendry of Ionia; children, Martin and 
Margo McKendry of Ionia, Richard and Mary Jo McKendry of Lyons, Marla McKendry 
and Cigna Allen of Lake City and Terry and Teresa McKendry of Ionia; step 
children, Polly and Bill Raymor - Bradway of Arizona, Joel and Robin Raymor of 
Ionia and Stephen and Lisa Raymor of St. Johns. 12 grandchildren and 8 great 
grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his infant brother, 2 sisters, 
Ellen Jane Greenlee and Lorraine Heether; 2 great grandchildren, Peyton Moore 
and Klaten Terry.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, 1:00 P.M., at Lake Funeral home in 
Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Burial of ashes in Easton 
Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday 6-8 P.M. at 
the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Ionia Area 
Hospice.
