Ionia Daily Sentinel, 20 Jan 1906

Matthew McKenna, one of the oldest settlers and about 78 years of age, was found 
dead in bed this morning.  Mr. McKenna lived with his son, Nicholas, about four 
miles northwest of Hubbardston.  The son found his father’s lifeless body this 
morning.  Mr. McKenna was a well-to-do farmer and leaves five children – 
Nicholas, Peter, former supervisor from North Plains, Thomas, Bridget and George.
