The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, August 9, 1934

Mrs. Margaret McKenna, 72, of Carson City, widow of Thomas McKenna, and 
formerly of Hubbardston, died Tuesday night at the home of her son, Fred, in 
Carson City.  Funeral services will be held in Carson City at the Catholic 
church there, at 9:30 o’clock Friday morning.

Mrs. McKenna is survived by three sons, George, of North Plains; Fred, of 
Carson City, and Walter, of Detroit.

She was a sister of the late Patrick Welch, and the last of seven members of 
the family of Thomas Welch, pioneer North Plains resident.  Patrick Allen, of 
Ionia, is a nephew.
