April 2, 1973 M. Mark McKenna, 66 of 128 West Lytle, and former treasurer of Northplains Township, died unexpectedly Sunday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital. Born July 18, 1906 in Hubbardston, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter McKenna, and married Viviann I. Sorensen at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, February 28, 1940. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Hubbardston’s American Legion post and SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Since his marriage in 1940 he made his home in Ionia. Surviving besides his wife are five sons; James of Lansing, Lawrence of East Lansing, Tommas of Lansing, Terrance of Knoxville, Tenn. and Patrick at home. A son Matthew preceded him in death in 1973. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marcia Andrews of Ionia and Mrs. Carolynn Sandborn of Lansing, and a brother, Francis of DeWitt. The body is at Myers-Roetman funeral home in Ionia where rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. April 3. Members of the family and friends may visit the funeral home Monday from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial has been established for the cardiac care unit at Ionia County Memorial Hospital and contributions may be left at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be at 10 am April 4 from SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Additional Comments: Mt.
