IONIA – Violet M. McKenzie, 70, of Ionia died Monday at Ionia County Memorial 
Hospital. The daughter of Ray and Edna Bennett Tyler, she was born April 24, 
1917, in Matherton.

She was married to Clarence McKenzie June 20, 1959, in Lansing, he survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Marvin Nemetz of Ionia and Larry Adsit of Lansing; 
three daughters, Betty Sipsy of Lansing, Edna Winters of Dimondale, and Mrs. 
Kenneth (Darlene) O’Connor of Lansing; seven grandchildren and three great 
grandchildren; two brothers, Daryl Reymonds and Bob Reynolds, both of St. 
Johns; and three sisters, Lucy Nemetz of Jackson, Ruby Musser of Greenville, 
and Alice Lamar of Jackson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday from the Main Street Chapel of 
Montgomery-Cook Funeral Home  with the Rev. Burt Glassburn of the First 
Assembly of God Church in Ionia officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 
p.m.
