McKimball, 74, died Saturday at Ionia Memorial hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Palo February 4, 1902, the daughter of Fred an Ada Jeffers Minier. She lived in Belding and Grand Rapids returning to Palo her junior year in high school to graduate and make her home. She retired in 1975 as financial secretary of Palo Community schools where she had been employed for 12 years. She was secretary-treasurer of the Palo cemetery association and active in the Palo chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, serving as secretary and president. She was also financial secretary of the Palo United Methodist church for many years. She married Benjamin McKimball June 28, 1936. He preceded her in death in December, 1957. An aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Dann of Lake Odessa and several cousins survive. Mrs. McKimball is at Leddick funeral home until Wednesday noon. Services are Wednesday at 2 pm from the Palo United Methodist church with Rev. Crotser officiating. Burial is in Palo cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Palo United Methodist church and the American Cancer society.
