McKinley, 71, retired business man, died Saturday night at 11 o'clock at his home in Lake Odessa after a long illness. He was born March 20, 1886 in Kentucky the son of Benjamin and Anna (Besen) McKinley and had been a resident of Lake Odessa for the past 20 years. He married Emma Boyd, July 12, 1919 at Evansville, Ind. They resided in Lansing and seven years in Sunfield before moving to Lake Odessa. They owned and operated a restaurant in Lake Odessa for a number of years before his retirement five years ago. He was a member of the Lake Odessa Masonic Lodge No. 395 since 1919 and attended the Congregational church. Surviving besides his wife Emma, are two sons, Donald and Robert of Kalamazoo, six grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. T.A. Henshaw and Miss Roberta McKinley of Indianapolis, Ind. The body reposes at the Pickens funeral home where service will be held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. Interment will be in Lakeside cemetery. The Rev. A.J. Pitman will officiate.
