McLaughlin Died In Detroit Dr. Nelson McLaughlin, 59, died Wednesday afternoon in Highland park hospital, Detroit, following a three-months illness of heart trouble there. Dr. McLaughlin was well known to many Lake Odessa residents, having practiced here about 25 years ago, and had since spent much of his vacation time here. He located here at the beginning of his medical practice in 1909. For several years the doctor was a member of the state medical board, and was a member of the staff of Highland Park hospital for seven years just previous to his death. Dr. McLaughlin served in World War I in a medical capacity in the state of Washington. He also studied spinal anesthesia in Europe. He, with Mrs. McLaughlin and their daughter Barbara located in Detroit following his discharge from the army. Barbara preceded her father in death at the age of 16, having suffered fatal injuries in an automobile accident, on her way to school. Dr. McLaughlin is survived by his widow, Nell; a sister Mrs. Gaylord Lapham in California, four brothers, Arden in Lansing, Martin in Detroit, Chester in California, and Ernest in Ohio. A sister, Florence, died several years ago. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 in Detroit, with burial there.
