The Hastings Reminder, Tuesday, December 11, 1984
Mrs. Thelma A. McLaughlin, 76, of Lake Odessa, died Wednesday December 5, 1984 
at Pennock Hospital in Hastings.  She was born June 17, 1908 in Lake Odessa, 
the daughter of Clark and Florence Vandecar.  She lived most of her life in 
the Lake Odessa area and graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1926.  She 
attended Lansing Business College.  

She was married to Arden McLaughlin on November 14, 1927.  He preceded her in 
death in November 1966.  She was a member of the First Congregational Church 
of Lake Odessa.  Mrs. McLaughlin is survived by two sons, Carlon and Nelson, 
both of Jackson, Miss.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 
three brothers, Vaughn Vandecar of Arizona, and Clare and Clayton Vandecar, 
both of Lansing.  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 8, from the Koops 
Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The Rev. Randall Kohls officiated.  Burial was 
in Lakeside Cemetery.
