The Portland Observer, Thursday, August 14, 1952

Funeral services were held at Neller Funeral Home Saturday afternoon for Mrs. 
Bertha McLean, 76, who passed away at St. Lawrence hospital last Thursday.  
Rev. Keith Avery officiated at services, and burial was in Danby cemetery.

For the past five years she had resided with a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Ries, in 
Lansing.  Another daughter, Mrs. Ada Rogers resides in Caledonia.  Sons 
surviving are Charles, of California; Emmett, of Detroit; and Guy, of 
Sunfield.  A brother, Ben York, of Portland, and 10 grandchildren and two 
great grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. McLean was born in Portland on July 28, 1876, the daughter of Charles 
York.  Her husband, Elmer McLean, preceded her in death.  

Bearers were Guy Peake, Harold Graft, Ford McCrumb, Lloyd Phillips, Ray Pryer 
and William Morgridge.
