Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Sat. July 28, 1990

MUIR- Carol J. McLeod, 59, of 1691 Keefer Highway, Lyons, died Friday in a 
Grand Rapids hospital.

Born Jan. 4, 1931, in Hillsdale County, she was the daughter of Dwight and 
Frances Rice Smith. She graduated from Pittsford High School and from Michigan 
State University with a degree in home economics.

She taught at Ionia High School and several Hillsdale County Schools, was the 
home economist in Harrisville County, Missouri, for 13 years, and also was an 
instructor at Central Missouri State College.

She was married to Verland McLeod in May 1972; he survives.

She was a member of Ionia County Farm Bureau Women, Lyons Order of Eastern 
Star, No. 34 and LeValley United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a brother, Wayne Smith of Jonesville; 
and a sister, LuNelle Floyd of Webb City, MO.

Cremation has taken place.

Funeral services will be at Hull Memorial Chapel, Muir, Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m.

An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at the 
chapel.

A memorial for the LeValley united Methodist Church has been established, in 
are of the funeral home.
