PASSED AWAY JUNE 18 ---------- ANGUS McLEOD DIES AFTER LLINGERING ILLNESS, LEAVES FOUR CHILDREN ---------- Angus McLeod, who has spent many years on his farm west of this village, passed away after a lingering illness, June 18. He was a native of Scotland and a man of careful, painstaking substantial living, making the best of his opportunities and giving the best of himself to his family, his neighbors and his friends. He and his wife were faithful Christians, leaving an example of upright living. The funeral was held at the First United Brethren church Wednesday. Rev. R. I. Broadway preached and the Grange male quartette sang. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery. OBITUARY Angus McLeod was born October 16, 1856, at North Harris, Scotland. He was united in marriage to Sarah F. Kingman February 21,1877. On February 21, 1927 they celebrated their 50th anniversersary, His wife left this world about three years ago. Angus passed on at the age of 77 years, eight months and two days, at his home west of Lake Odessa, Mich. June 18, 1933. He leaves to mourn their loss; Mrs. Mary Reahm, Lake Odessa; John McLeod, Charlton township; Gilbert McLeod, Woodland, Mrs. Myrtle Patrick, Aberdeen, Wash., also nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Angus and his wife were members of the United Brethren church for a great many years. He was a good faithful father to his family and beloved by all his friends. All will miss his going and there will be a vacant place left by him. Jesus, while our hearts are bleeding O'er the spoils that death has won, We would at this solemn meeting Calmly say "Thy will be done." By thy hand the boon was given, Thou hast taken but Thine own: Lord of earth and God of heaven, Evermore "Thy will be done."
