McLEOD Harold L. McLeod, 76, passed away at Osteopathic Hospital, Grand Rapids, late Friday night. He had been a patient at the hospital since Dec. 18 after being transferred from the Ionia Manor where he had been a patient for a week. Mr. McLeod was born at Caledonia May 1, 1895, the son of John and Phianah (Near) McLeod, and had been a local area resident most of his life. He was employed at Fisher Body, Lansing, for 16 years before retiring 11 years ago. A veteran of World War I, serving in the U.S. Army, he was a member of Lakeside Barracks. He married Martha J. Robison of Rosebush March 20, 1922, who survives with six sons, Vance Disbrow of Lansing, Ronald and Max of Lake Odessa, Lyle of Lansing, Robert of Ionia and Dean of Saranac; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Anita) Amy of Battle Creek and Mrs. Loyd (Geraldine) Ulrey of Lansing; 23 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ed (Pearl) Eldridge of Lake Odessa. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 at Pickens Funeral Chapel. Rev. Gary Lyons officiated, with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
