McLeod John A. McLeod 84, of Hastings passed away last Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs Francis (Dorothy) Coleman on N.Michigan avenue. A retired farmer, he was a native of Caledonia and moved with his parents when a small boy to Dutton before moving to the local area and had attended the Nye school. After his marriage to Florence Gosch of Freeport in 1905, they farmed in the local area for a short time before moving to a farm they purchased in Carlton township Barry County. They lived there until the spring of 1946 when they moved to Hastings because of Mrs. McLeods health but he continued farming until 1955 when he retired, and had been in ill health for three years. Mr. McLeod was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness church at Hastings. Surviving are his daughter; a brother Gilbert of Woodland; a sister Mrs.Earl (Myrtle) Patrick of Palm Springs, Calif; one grand child and four great grand- children. Mr sMcLeod passed away June 30, 1958. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Pilgrim Holiness cemetery, Barry county. Rev.Lila Manker and Rev. V.L. Dragoo officiated.
