Lake Odessa Wave-Times December 7, 1939

JOHN MCLEOD DIES AT STATE HOSPITAL
Leaves Five sons and One Daughter. Funeral at First United Brethren Church 
Friday at 3:00 P.M.

John McLeod, 84 years of age, a resident of Lake Odessa vicinity for most of his 
life, died at the state hospital at Traverse City, Tuesday and the body was 
shipped to Lake Odessa, Wednesday.

The funeral will be held at the First United Brethren Church, Friday afternoon 
at 3 o'clock, with the Rev. R.E.. Uhrig officiating.

The deceased leaves five sons and one daughter; William of New Buffalo, Rodney 
of Kalamazoo, Benjamin and Clarence of Battle Creek, Harold of Lake Odessa, and 
Mrs.Eddie Eldridge of near Lake Odessa. His wife died in 1916.

Mr. McLeod was born in Scotland in 1855. he leaves two sisters Mrs.Sarah 
McMillen of Detroit and Mrs.Selina Patterson of Canada. He was the brother of 
the late Angus McLeod and had lived in this vicinity most of his life.
