Vance in this village, being conducted by Rev. W. W. Hurd of the M.E. church. Interment was made by the side of her husband in the family lot in Westside cemetery. The obsequies at the home of Mrs. Vance and also at the cemetery were attended by a large number of friends and relatives from here as well as from Muir, Lyons and other points. Mrs. McLoud was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ryerson Shoemaker, being born in the little town of Barrington N Y. on October 22, 1845. On October 1st, 1865, she was united in marriage to Henry McLoud of Yates county, New York, and in October of the following year they came to Pewamo to make their home, In 1869 they removed to Jonesville, Michigan, remaining there for a period of three years, after which they returned to Pewamo and from that time on until the death of Mr. McLoud in March, 1911, they made this village their home. One son, Byron, was given to their union and after the death of the husband and father Mrs. McLoud went to Ada to make her home with him. After an illness extending over many weeks she passed from this earth on Tuesday, July 13th, 1915, in the 69th year of her age. Besides a son, she leaves to mourn her departure, two brothers, John Shoemaker of Lyons; Farley Shoemaker of Columbiaville, Michigan, and a sister, Mrs. Ithiel McLoud of Dundee. The writer has known Mrs. McLoud from our earliest recollections and always she was a woman of God-fearing convictions, laboring year after year in the vineyard of the Master, and we know she has earned by her loving and faithful services on this earth a crown of eternal glory in the land of hopes and promises that the Lord and Savior said that He had gone forth to prepare for the faithful of all the ages.
