BUD DION MCMELLEN

Bud Dion McMellen, age 34, of Hastings, passed away n November 18, 2021 with his 
family by his side.Bud was born on November 14, 1987, in Hastings.the son of 
James and Kim (Shadwick) McMellen.

Bud ws a 2006 graduate of hasting's High School, He worked as a line cook at 
Applebees, a chef at County Seat, and a machine operators at Hastings 
manufacturing.

Bud was a friend to all. He loved the outdoors and new adventures, from finding 
the best fishing spot to finding the best places to eat. He touched so many 
people with his positive attitude and contagious smile.

Bud was born with a coronary anomaly. From birth s heart did not work properly. 
He sent his life making the best of every day and teaching others to do the 
same. After 34 years, he lost his battle courageously sharing his journey.You

Bud was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his father, James McMellen of Hastings:sisters, Rikki (Duanne) 
Windes of Hastings, Mairi Chadwick of Hastings, Alexandra McMellen of Holland, 
Holly Cappobianco of Ionia, Ruth (Chad) VanWalsum of Grand Rapids, Ian McMellen 
of Decatur,IN, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can e made in Bud's memory to the 
Helen Devos Children's Hospital Foundation, 25 Michigan NE, Suite 4100, Grand 
Rapids, MI. 49503, https://give.spectrumhealth.org/donations.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday Dec. 4, 2021,, at Grace 
Brethren Church, 2720 Vedder Rd, Lake Odessa,MI 48849 from 3 to 6 p.m.
