Betty Mae McNally, age 84, of Ionia, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 
25, 2009.  She was born on Oct. 5, 1924 in Ionia, the daughter of Walter and 
Ilah (Howay) Wiles.  She served briefly in the United Sates Army working at a 
military hospital during WWII.  Betty married Laverne McNally Oct. 6, 1946; he 
preceded her in death Jan. 11, 1966.  She lived at Long Lake in Orleans for 55 
years.

Betty is survived by her son, Tim (Merry) McNally; daughter-in-law, Barbara 
McNally; granddaughters, Aimee (Marc) Fennell, Tiffany (Jason) Seiler and 
Stephanie McNally; grandson, Jason (Jennifer) Toney and great-grandchildren, 
Spencer, Nathan, Tyler, Abby, Kelsey and Ezra.  She was preceded in death by 
her parents; son, Michael McNally; sister and brother-in-law, Bird and Iris 
Groom; brother Maynard Wiles and great-granddaughters Jaime and Jennifer 
McNally.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at Shiloh Community Church 
with Rev. Kendall Harger officiating.  The family will receive friends and 
relatives Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  Anyone 
wishing may make memorial contributions in Betty’s name to Butterworth 
Neonatal Unit.
