The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, March 31, 1954


Roy McNaughton, 74, former Ionian, who has lived for the last 10 years in 
Jackson, died there Wednesday morning.  Word of his death was received 
Wednesday by Mrs. Eva Towne of Royal Oak, who was visiting Mrs. Maide Metzger 
in Ionia.

Mr. McNaughton has been ailing for several years and the last year, with a 
heart ailment.  He lived in Ionia until ten years ago when he left to enter 
business in Jackson.  At one time he was head of the upholstering department 
of the Ypsilanti-Reed Furniture factory here and after that owned and operated 
the McNaughton apartments on East Washington street.

Exact details of his death and time of funeral were not received in Ionia 
Wednesday morning.  However, burial will be here at Highland Park cemetery.
