JANIS (FLEGLER) MCNEIL
Died December 2, 2019-age 69
Born July 7, 1951 in Lansing-daughter of Lewis & Opal (Parks) Flegler.
Graduated Everett High School in 1969.
Earned Bachelor's degree in Education from Michigan State University in 1973.
Married Clay McNeil of Portland,Mich. in 1978.
Had two daughters, Jessica & Krista.
Enjoyed cooking and sewing. 
Helped manage the family farm, was involved with Ionia County Farm Bureau.
Served as a Girl Scout troop leader & worked in Special Education.
Was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Janise loved history & 
genealogy.
Worked with daughters & granddaughters with art projects, music & love of 
animals.
Survived by her husband Clay; daughters Jessica McNeil of Chicago, Ill.; and 
Krista (Chris) McNeil of Portland; granddaughter Amara; brother Dr. Stanley 
(Carol) Flegler of Okemos; sister-in-law Corinne (Claude) McNeil McKenzie of 
Bath; nieces, Anna Yearwood, Mary Flegler, Elizabeth and Sarah Piszczek; nephew 
Thomas Flegler; and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents, sister Sharon, and longtime friend Toni Fiorillo.
Memorial contributions may be made to macKenzie's Animal Shelter of Lake Odessa, 
Mich.
