Greenville Library, Pioneer scrapbook 1890


Mrs. Mariah McNitt was born in Alleghany County, N.Y., Feb. 11, 1934. She 
married David H. McNitt April 4, 1850. In 1866 they came to this county and 
have continued to reside here ever since. Her death occurred on Wednesday of 
last week, being caused by a hard cold, which grew in seriousness and finally 
resulted fatally. Mrs. McNitt was the mother of eleven children, seven girls 
and four boys, all of whom survive her. She has always been a faithful wife and 
loving mother.
