McPeek, 81, of 923 Maynard Road, Portland, died Saturday in a Lansing hospital. Born Dec. 5, 1903, in Christian County, Ill., he was the son of Harry and Anna Baker McPeek. He retired in 1969 after 28 years as plant superintendent for TRW in Portland. He was a member of Portland Lodge No. 31, F.& A.M. Surviving are his wife, Eva; three sons, Ray of Crum, Texas, Ronald of Redford Township and Richard of Jenison; three daughters, Marjorie Cowell of Parma, Kathleen Ullom of Silver Springs, Fla.; and Patricia Reed of St. Joseph; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; three brothers, Homer of Royal Oak, Carl of St. Augustine, Fla., and Daryl of Ft. Worth, Tex.; and one sister, Hester Pheres of Taylorsville, Ill. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Portland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dow Chamberlain officiating. Graveside services will be held in Roselawn Park Cemetery at 2 p.m. Masonic services will be held at Neller Funeral Home Monday at 8 p.m., which has made the arrangements. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
