The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, September 5, 1991

Marie A. McPherson, 93, of Ionia, died Tuesday.  She was born the daughter of 
Nelson and Alta Boyd Haysmer on March 10, 1898, in Ionia.  She was married to 
Robert D. McPherson on December 13, 1917.  They were founders and owners of 
the Evergreen Motel in Ionia.  She was an active member of several clubs in 
Ionia.

She is survived by one daughter, Beryl Bishop of Ionia; 11 grandchildren; 14 
great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren; several nieces, 
nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1958; one 
sister, Irene McPherson; two sons Donald in 1962 and Bruce in 1985.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shiloh Community 
Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Organist will be Beverley 
Harger.  Arrangements were made by Cook Funeral Home of Ionia.  A memorial has 
been established for the Shiloh Community Church, in care of the church.
