The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, September 23, 1964
Donald W. McPherson, 68, well known Ronald township farmer, died Tuesday 
evening at his residence after a lengthy illness.  He was born February 28, 
1896 in Easton township, the son of William and Minnie McPherson, and October 
6, 1917 was married to Irene Haysmer.

Mr. McPherson was a member of Banner Grange and Farmers Union.  He was a 
member of Guernsey Cattlemen association and showed animals at fairs 
throughout the state.  An ardent outdoorsman, Mr. McPherson was one of the 
first archers in this area and enjoyed making bows.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; four daughters, Mrs. Ilene Rodriguez of 
Royal Oak, Mrs. Paul Trebian of Orleans, Mrs. Philip Fancett and Mrs. John 
Stricking of Ionia; two sons, N. J. McPherson of Brighton and Gene of Ionia; 
13 grandchildren; and one brother, Monroe MacPherson Sr., of route three.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Stone-Kauffman funeral 
home with interment in Woodard Lake Cemetery.
