She was born Feb. 4, 1920 in Breckenridge, Mich., the daughter of Arthur and Vera (Harris) Easlick. She graduated Valedictorian of her class at Breckenridge High School in 1938. She married Bruce McPherson Jan. 20, 1940, who preceded her in death in 1985. Roberta and her husband owned and operated Bruce's Sport Shop from 1948 to 1964 and were co-owners of Evergreen Trailer Park until their retirement in 1982. They also owned a pet grooming business for 25 years. She was a member of Shiloh Community Church and volunteered at Benzie County Historical Museum and Ionia County Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. Roberta is survived by her sons, Terry (Judy) McPherson of Fenwick, James (Ora) McPherson of Saranac, Roger (Linda) McPherson of Ionia, and Brian (Caroline) McPherson of Natick, Mass.; sister, Catherine Easlick of Saranac; grandchildren, Darren (Toni) McPherson, Lynn (Steve) Monroe, Tucker McPherson, Allison LeLand, Shannon Gleason, Becky (Christopher) Booth and Craig McPherson and great-grandchildren, Chelsea Monroe, Tyler Monroe, Mitchell McPherson, Jim Leland, Jade Leland, John Leland, Alana McPherson, Erica Gleason, Bruce Bell, Lauren Booth and Ryan Booth. She is preceded in death by husband Robert and sisters Barbara Foster, Marge Knopp and Dottie Easlick. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Shiloh Community Church with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you may make contributions to The American Diabetes Association.
