McQueen, 78, of Homer, formerly of Portland, died on May 28, 2000. She was born on Sept. 15, 1921, in Lansing, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Tortu) Karnath. Mrs. McQueen retired in 1983 from Oldsmobile Corporation as an inspector after 30 years of faithful service. She was a member of the U.A.W. Local #652. Mrs. McQueen was preceded in death by her husband, George W., in 1976; son Gary William and stepson, Raymond Lynn. Surviving are two daughters, Georgia L. (Harold) Morris of Holt and Susan K. (Kenneth) Reynolds of Homer; one step-daughter, Charlotte (Jerry) Runyon of Portland; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, June 1 at 11 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Neller Chapel, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland with the Rev. Charles D. Hall, Pastor of St. Patricks Catholic Church officiating. The Rite of Committal will be held in Portland Cemetery, Portland. The family will receive friends at the Chapel on Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Lung Association of Michigan, 403 Seymour Ave., Lansing, 48933-1179, in memory of Mrs. McQueen.
