McQUILLAN, JOSEPH B.:
   THE DAILY SENTINEL-STANDARD, IONIA, MICH., MARCH 23, 1936:  "Deaths - JOSEPH
McQUILLAN - Joseph McQuillan, 77, died at his home on East Main street, Saturday
morning after an illness of five weeks which was caused by a stroke.
   He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard McQuillan and was born in Lyons, June
2, 1859.  In 1889 he went to South Dakota where he married Lucy R. Northrup. 
They lived there for eight years and then returned to Ionia where they have
resided ever since.
   Surviving him is one son, Leon McQuillan, of Ionia, and one sister, Mrs. Mary
Somers, of Flint.
   Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, March 24, at 2 o'clock from
the home, 538 East Main street.  Burial will be in the Highland Park cemeter. 
Rev. Paul Steward will officiate."

   Per THE DAILY SENTINEL-STANDARD, IONIA, MICH, MARCH 25, 1936:  "Deaths -
JOSEPH McQUILLAN - Funeral services for Joseph McQuillan, 77, were held from the
home Tuesday afternoon.  Interment was at the Highland Park cemetery and Rev.
Paul Steward officiated.
   The Odd Fellows attended in a body.  Mr. McQuillan has been a member of this
lodge for many years.
   Surviving him is one son, Leon McQuillan, of Ionia, and one sister, Mrs. Mary
Somers, of Flint.
   Pallbearers were Ira Curtis, J. O. Maynard, Ralph Gilchrist, George Almy,
Bert Winslow and Henry Boken.
   Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. Margaret Block, of
Flint; Miss Norene Rains, of New York; Bernard McQuillan, of Detroit; Thomas
Humphry and James Humphrey, of Detroit."
