Ionia Sentinel Standard, 25 Feb 1983

Leota F. McRoberts, 76, of 124 Irving St., Belding, died at the home of a son 
in Ionia Wednesday.  Born May 29, 1906, in Hope, Mich., she was the daughter of 
Alexander and Clara Wendt.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, in 
1961.

Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Norman (Jean) VonEitzen of Ionia, Mrs. Jack 
(Willa) Short of Kincheloe, Mrs. Charles (Doris) Millwood of Chicago, Mrs. Jack 
(Christine) Empie of Ionia; six sons, Bernard of Ionia, Francis of Midland, 
Douglas of Port Huron, James of Orleans, Charles of Belding, and Thomas of 
Sidney.

Also surviving are five sisters: Mrs. Verna DeBolt, Mrs. Marion Burch and Mrs. 
Iva Terryah and Mrs. Beatrice Sovia, all of Midland, and Mrs. Kathryn Reese of 
Mesick; five brothers, Lester Wendt of Evart, Howard Wendt of Mt. Pleasant, 
Russell Wendt of Onaway, Robert Wendt of Midland and Roy Wendt of California.  
Other survivors include 43 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren, and one great 
great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Huffman Funeral Home, 
Belding, the Rev. Arthur Mullen officiating.  Burial will be in Otisco 
Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 
to 8:30 p.m.
