Hummell, died at his home in this place at an early hour Tuesday morning after an illness of several months from tuberculosis. He was fifteen years of age and the larger part of his life has been spent in Lake Odessa. He was an exemplary young man, bright in his school work, free from bad habits and a general favorite among his companions. About a year ago he began as apprentice in The Times office and during the few months that he was with us we found him to be competent, diligent and ready to learn. He was rather frail in constitution and when the dread malady attacked him he rapidly failed until he was finally compelled to take to his bed. Until the last few days he had been hopeful and believed that he would get well although the loving watcher knew that life was fast ebbing away and that it would be a matter of only a short time before he would be called to rest. The community sympathetic with the family in the loss of Clayton whose death so early an age seems untimely. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Congregational church, Rev. Prestidge officiating. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/m/mctaggar10760nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
