McVeigh died suddenly last Sunday after a few hours illness of kidney disease and heart failure at the home of his son, George, on the Arthur Corey farm southwest of Hubbardston. The funeral was delayed in order that Ford, his son, who lives at Seattle, Wash., could be present, but who failed to arrive in time, was held Thursday, March 30, from the Hubbardston M.E. church. Deceased was 51 years of age and is survived by four sons: Geo. and James who are twins, the latter living in Gd. Rapids, Ford of Seattle, Wash., and Otto. For many years Mr. McVeigh was a resident of Lebanon where he held various public offices, being township clerk for nine years and supervisor four years. Six years ago he moved from his farm in Lebanon to a farm northwest of Hubbardston which his two sons, George and Otto helped him work. This spring George rented the Corey farm and his father accompanied him and his wife to that place to make it his home. He belonged to the Masonic order and carried $2,000 each in the M.W.A. and the Gold Reserve of Mt. Pleasant, the policies running to his sons. Mr. McVeigh was a man who quickly won friends and retained their deepest respect and high regards. He was a brother of Mrs. Alma Millard of Pewano.
