Ionia Sentinel Standard, 8 Mar 1948

Dennis O. McVeigh, 85, died at his South Ionia home Saturday evening.  Mrs. McVeigh
died in September 1941.  He was born June 27, 1862, in Ionia township.  Mr. McVeigh
had at one time been a farmer and then operated a grocery store on Bridge street
until his death.  He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose for 30 years.

He leaves two sons, Leon of Lansing and Don of South Ionia; three grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; and one step-brother, John Anderson of Muskegon.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Meyers funeral home Wednesday afternoon
at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Davis officiating.  Interment will be in Balcom
cemetery.
