Ionia Sentinel Standard, 1998

Ionia – Julia A. McVicker, 89, of Ionia passed away February 20, 1998 in 
Lowell  She was born February 24, 1908 in Ionia, the daughter of Frank and 
Alice (Willett) Young.  She married Lester (Mac) McVicker on February 6, 1941.  
He preceded her in death.

She was a member of The Eastern Star.  She enjoyed square dancing, and 
traveling with her husband after his retirement.  She was employed by Reed 
Furniture Factory in Ionia.

She is survived by her daughter Arvonne Culp Jakobsen, grandchildren Michael 
and Kathy Culp, Donna Jean and John Lachammer, Bill Slay, Linda and Rich 
Eppinger, Mark and Marcia Culp.  Also surviving are 16 great grandchildren, 11 
great great grandchildren, and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her brother John, and two sisters Frances and 
Dorothy (Young) Hartman.

Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 
p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with Rev. Robert Nixon officiating.
