Sunfield Resident Passed Away

Clair McWhorter, Sr. 67, of Sunfield, passed away last Tuesday evening at his 
home. A former chief enforcement officer of the Michigan Public Service 
Commission. He had served the commission for 20 years retiring three years ago. 
He had also served as deputy sheriff in Eaton County for several years before 
resigning that position in 1940.

Surviving are his wife Josephine; two sons Clair of Grand Ledge and Vance of 
Lansing; a daughter Mrs.Gertrude Baumlester of Manilus, N.Y.; a sister Mrs Mae 
Bosworth of Charlotte and a brother Max McWhorter, Sr. of Sunfield.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 25, at the Mapes Funeral Home with 
burial in the Sunfield cemetery.
