McWilliams, 64, died early Friday at Ionia Memorial hospital, following an extended illness. Mr. McWilliams had made his home at 921 Hackett. Born in Osceola county February 19, 1911, he was the son of Ray and Alta Sturgis McWilliams. He attended school at Ithaca. March 31, 1929, he was married in St. Johns to Irene Hagle and they lived most of their married life in Ionia where he was a baker 27 years. For several years he also raised prize winning black angus cattle on a farm near Ionia and many winning ribbons were on display at his bakery. Surviving besides the wife, Irene, are three sons, Robert and Gordon of Grand Ledge, and Dennis, stationed with the air force at Montgomery, Ala.; daughter, Mrs. Lillian Graves of Seabrook, Texas; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; three brothers, Clifford and Lester of Ithaca and Ray, Jr., of Texas. Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Mable Knapp of St. Louis, Mrs. Geneva Smith if Ithaca, Mrs. Ilene Shinabarger and Mrs. Loretta First of Perrinton and Mrs. Virginia Betz of Florida. Funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home. Rev. Joseph Noon of the Wayland Free Methodist church will officiate and interment will be at the Oakhill cemetery.
