She was born April 7, 1909 in Lamotte Twp., Sanilac Co., Mich. and was one of 11 children of Hacob Benjamin Hagel and Mary Armintha (Merrick) Hagle. She was married to Orville Henry McWilliams on March 31, 1929 in St. Johns and they were residents of Ionia since 1948. Mrs. McWilliams was a homemaker and with her husband owned and operated the former Model Bakery, 312 Main St., from 1948 to 1972. She was a member of the Ionia Free Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Lillian (Rex V.) Graves of Sumner, Wash.; three sons, Robert F. (Regina) McWilliams of Elk Rapids, Mich. and his former wife Patricia A. Ferguson McWilliams of Ionia; Dennis (Malinda) McWilliams of Zanesville, Ohio; Donald Gordon (Mary) McWilliams of San Jose, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Connie Hutchinson and Dale Graves of Houston, Texas, Gary (Michelle) Graves of Tacoma, Wash., Robert (Sue) McWilliams, Jr. of Ionia, Linda McWilliams Heppe of Ionia, Randy McWilliams of Carson City, Colo., David McWilliams of Zanesville, Ohio, Timothy McWilliams of Battle Creek, Gordon Scott of Guilford, Conn., Lori McWilliams of San Jose, Calif., several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Mass of Holland and Netlie Donahue of Centerline, Mich.; one brother, Earl Hagel of Avon Park, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Eleanor; her husband, Orville; three sisters, four brothers, her parents and one grandson, Keven McWilliams. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. at the Rich St. Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Cook Funeral Home and the interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Larry Thompson of the Ionia Free Methodist Church will officiate. Memorials will be made to the wishes of the family, envelopes are available at the Cook Funeral Home.
