Mrs. Meach was born at Fort Mackinaw in 1861 and was the only child of William and Sylvia Bishop-Booker. When but a small child her parents located near Belding where she attended school, later teaching the Session and Indian school of Middle village. On April 23, 1884, she was married to Walter Meach, and moved to McBrides where they lived two years and then moved to Belding where Mr. Meach was employed at the silk mills and Mrs. Meach as bookkeeper at the Leonard General store. In 1905 Mr. and Mrs. Meach moved to a farm north of Muir where they operated a milk route for 32 years. Mrs. Meach was an active member of the Presbyterian church, belonging to the aid society and the ladies’ library club as well as active in civic affairs in her community. She is survived by her husband, Walter, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the home, Saturday afternoon, June 5, at 2 o’clock. Bearers will be Selton Kendall of Muir, Lester Ross of Ionia, Otto Ulrich of Muir, L. H. Leonard of Belding, Nathan Greene and Elmer Cutler of Muir. Burial will be in the Muir cemetery.
