His death had been looked for several days and the final climax was brought on by another stroke of paralysis a week or so ago. Mr. Mead was first stricken several years ago and ever since that time has been in feeble condition and confined to his home corner of North Jackson and Lafayette streets. He was in business in Ionia many years, and was born May 6, 1846. He married a daughter of William Hall, who survives. Funeral from the residence at 2 o’clock Tuesday, Sept. 16, Rev. E. E. Branch officiating. Burial in Highland Park cemetery. Mr. Mead belonged to Grand Rapids lodge of Elks, No. 48. Ionia Elks will have charge of funeral at the grave. All Elks requested to turn out. There will be a delegation from Grand Rapids on the noon train.
