Ionia Standard, 19 Sep 1913

A large number of friends attended the funeral service for Wm. M. Mead Tuesday
afternoon at the home.  Rev. Branch officiated, and the music was furnished by a
quartet – Dr. C.G. Winchell, Dr. L. W. Yates, G. Lee Yates and Thane Benedict. 
About thirty members of the local Elks’ lodge attended, and secretary Geo. D.
Bostock, Wm. H. Boynes, J.B. McInnis and Marcus A. Eugelman were at the funeral
as representatives of Daisy lodge of Grand Rapids, of which large Mr. Mead had
been a member many years.  The Elks’ ritual was used for the burial service at
Highland Park.
