The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, April 8, 2014


Norma Jean Meade of Tustin, formerly of Ionia, passed away Thursday, April 3, 
2014 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.  She was 80.  She 
was born January 31, 1934 in Ionia, Michigan to Harold and Doris (Briggs) 
Anslow and they preceded her in death. 

Norma graduated from Ionia High School and went on to attend Central Michigan 
University. She retired from the Ionia County probate Court in 1996 after 
working there for 30 years.  Norma enjoyed reading, gardening and fishing.  She 
was a member of the Ionia Community Choir and Ionia Friends of the Library. 

She is survived by her children: Mary (Steve) Mitchell of Tustin, Paul (Marsha) 
Meade of Plainwell, Michigan, Pete (Quinn) Meade of Greenville, Michigan and 
Sue (Gilbert) Reynolds of Ionia, Michigan; five grandchildren; three great 
grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen 
and a sister Lois Cornelise. 

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place a memorial service will 
be held at a later date.
