Meade Settled On Old Farm In 1856 and Has Lived There Since. Death Occurred at Advanced Age of 86 of Heart Failure – Has Resided With Daughter, Mrs. Johnson, Since Husband’s Death. Mrs. Sarah Meade, aged 86, a prominent resident of Orleans, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elan Johnson. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock from the residence. John Meade, of Orleans, is a son of Mrs. Meade. Mrs. Meade was a pioneer of Orleans, having lived on the old farm since coming there in 1856. She was the widow of Wm. Meade, who died in 1890, and six children survive. They are Wm. Meade, of Ionia; Albert Meade, of Orleans; Mrs. John Sherman, of Fremont; Mrs. George Abbey, of Belding; Mrs. H. L. Johnson, Greenville; Mrs. Elon Johnson, Orleans. Mrs. Meade was born in Cairo, Greene county, New York, June 29, 1824, coming to Michigan in 1856. Her death was occasioned by old age and heart failure.
