LaVina H. (Foss) Mecher, 87, formerly of 521 Root St., Belding, died Monday, 
April 29, 2002, at Metron of Greenville.  LaVina was born Jan. 10, 1915 to 
William Henry and Ida Mae Fifield Braford, in Six Lakes.  She was a member of 
the Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are two sons: Lewis (Ginger) Foss of Ionia, and Raymond (Ruth) Foss, 
of Daphne, Ala.; 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Foss who died in 1991; 
and her second husband Roy Mecher who died in 1998; daughter Irene Slosser, and 
both parents.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Huffman Funeral Home in Belding with 
the Rev. Kenneth Harger presiding.

Visitation is 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral 
home.  Interment will be Rest Haven Memory Gardens in Belding.
