Wayne Meeuwsen, Sr., age 79 of Ionia, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1930 in Grand Rapids, the son of Cornelius and Gertrude 
Meeuwsen. Mr. Meeuwsen was a Veteran of Korea and retired from General Motors 
after 41 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and always had 
hunting dogs.

He is survived by his two sons, Brad (Diane) Meeuwsen and Wayne Meeuwsen; six 
grandchildren, Mike, Dave, Shelby, Christina, Tyler and Wayne III; great-
grandchild, Bradly; sisters, Bea, Ruth and Ester.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Wanda; son Dennis; daughter Teri; 
brother Russ “Bob”.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at 
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-
Lehman Funeral Homes, Ionia. Online condolences may be made at
